Utility works to enable the extension of the Midland Metro line from its existing St George’s terminus to [layerslider id=”GI-news”] outside Wolverhampton railway station as part of the Wolverhampton Interchange Project began on 8 August, and are progressing well.
There are currently works ongoing to the south western corner of Pipers Row (pictured) to enable the diversion of electricity cables belonging to National Grid. This enables us to look forward to the construction of the railway line itself, for which design is now fully complete.
We will keep you posted through this website through the course of the works, but are aiming to finish all relevant works by the end of November in order to limit any negative impact on key business stakeholders in the area at a busy time of year.
Take a look at our Wolverhampton projects page for more details on how the line will look when completed.
