The Midland Metro Alliance has started work to improve the public realm around Lower Temple Street in Birmingham City Centre.
Works are anticipated to be finished by the end of June 2017. The works are taking place over an eight-week period to minimise disruption to pedestrians and local businesses.
Alejandro Moreno, Director of the Midland Metro Alliance said: “With these works we demonstrate that Midland Metro Alliance are not just looking at the metro lines themselves but ensuring that the area around the route offers the best environment for residents and visitors to the city”.
These works will involve re-paving the area in order for the palette of materials to co-ordinate with Grand Central and the current Metro terminus. It will significantly improve the pedestrian environment in the area, and improve physical access, particularly for people with disabilities or mobility issues.
